I know I'm a living system because...
I often feel little creatures moving around in my belly! haha, j/k no but seriously I do believe in the whole concept that our bodies are like worlds, and particularly for the creatures inhabiting them. I often am paranoid about whether or not I have parasites--I hear that most people have them--and that's a scary thing but also kind of cool-birthing my son wasn't the only way I caused life to occur!
I also like all of the similarities and symbols one can draw between their own body and the world. Such as that I breathe and the world breaths-wind blows, all creatures exhale and inhale eachother's exhalations and inhalations. Of course there are the rivers coursing through my veins, the crust of my skin and the core of my heart. Such poetry!
Biophysics and Oriental Medicine
Biophysics seems to be segmented and integrated through many fields, which I think is something a lot of folks attempt to do with Oriental medicine--segmenting it into all the ways it can help people heal. Yet here is also just a reality that there are specialties--for example whether one chooses to focus on herbal medicine, needles, acupressure, Qigong, you name it, they got it.
Of course there are the undeniable connections such as the application of energy and analysis of how it works-in the world of living systems but also in the human body which goes across Oriental medicine and biophysics.
