Week Twelve Assignments

  • "Montana and Idaho plan open-season wolf hunt" - Can we balance the issues involved?

I think the issues involve beliefs, the most prominent being that some believe the ability for wolves be alive should be defended and the other being that they shouldn't, specifically, that their domesticated livestock's lives are more valuable.  This is a balance of issues-one on one end and the other on the other end.  The real problem though is that the money behind the ability to fight for the issues isn't balanced.  Thus measures can be sneaked as ride-alongs in other bills.

  • "We plan to bring out innovative tailor-made cells for disease" - What do you make of "Stem cell therapy"?
It is understandable why people want it--to cure diseases, but as always I must argue for more to be done in the ways of prevention--that's truly what it means to go after the root cause--a root grows long before the branch manifests.
  • Do you agree that “Laughter really is the best medicine?
I don't know that i'd say it's the best medicine, but I do believe it's medicine.  I find it silly to say something is the "best", unless it's like by category and for a good reason.  Certainly laughter alone won't keep us alive, but without it would suck!
