Week Six-Vibrations

Are all vibrations good?

I'm not really into labeling things, "good" or "bad", particularly academically.  When it pertains to my life, I guess I label things as "good for me", or "bad for me", because really good or bad is only from the perspective of someone who stands to gain or benefit.  That being said, there are definitely vibrations that act in ways that might harm me.  For example, music that's too loud, or someone who has hostile energy to me, or maybe like a really ugly sounding thing that suddenly frightens me.

Resonance in my world

Well, I am super appreciative of those who have gone before us who figured out about resonance and bridges and can now do a better job building things as a result.  Of course, I do have to say that I think there are numerous ways to do this, be them shamanic or be them Western tech, and I think many of the various ways are valid (if they actually work).   I never thought about things like this before, being from NM, where I never heard of earthquakes, but now here I have my little emergency kit and I'm glad my building is old and lived through some big ones!

Connections I can make between Energy and Qi?

Well, I think energy is one component of Qi.  Because Qi is made of many components, many definitions, etc.  So let's say the yang qi, maybe that's energy, because it's the warming qi that disperses and transforms things, moves them.  Like the mingmen fire provides the warmth for the San Jiao to give rise to Yuan Qi.  But also let's not forget how Gu Qi is part of the source of post-heaven Jing, and that also is a source that is transformed into energy in the body.  So really I think Energy should be defined better in Western lingo, or at least, with my limited Western science background, I'm not aware of how it's broken down, and maybe this should be provided as part of the basic science foundation given to kids through high school-if it had been I'd be able to break "energy" down more.

Comment on a classmates blog

  1. I agree that energy should be taught more profoundly in school. I remember vaguely some lessons on inertia(did I spell that right?) and what not. But then again how deep can a western society get into something they don't accept or understand? School in my opinion should be taught with a more world view. History, language arts, etc. Not just a one sided view. This would open a better way to view the world at large. Just my 2 centavos.
